Greg and Becky Cowan were born and raised in South Texas. They now make their home in Desdemona, TX . Both Greg and Becky come from ranching families and their parents passed the love for that way of life on to them. God brought Greg and Becky together at the San Antonio Livestock Show where they were both showing calves. They have now been married 43 wonderful years and have been blessed with six wonderful children and four grand-children.
Greg and Becky are members of Rocky Point Baptist Church where he serves as Chairman of Deacons and Becky serves in the nursery. Greg also leads a weekly men's Bible study and was previously involved in Bilingual Prison ministry to Hispanics in Freestone County, TX.
Greg's lifelong experiences as a cowboy have been diverse and have allowed him to work and excel in various aspects of the cattle industry. He has managed and operated several ranching operations that varied from a 1500 commercial caw/calf operation to back grounding 2000+ head of stockers and yearlings. His experiences and life’s circumstances have been a training ground that prepared Greg to answer God's calling to spend the rest of his life serving and glorifying Him, while still working in the industry he knows and loves. This decision to surrender his life completely to serving the Lord on a full-time basis opened the door for Greg to join Cattle for Christ in our efforts to unite cattlemen, dairymen and farmers for the purpose of sharing the Gospel and the love of Christ both here at home and around the world.
Christian mission work actually influenced Greg at an early age. His dad operated a cow/calf operation for the Mexican Baptist Children’s Home in San Antonio Texas, on a ranch south of San Antonio that had been donated to the home. Many of these children were orphans brought out of Mexico through the efforts of mission organizations. Greg had the privilege growing up around Godly men and women that loved the Lord and served Him in various ways. Though Greg did not always realize it then, he was left a heritage that helped him get to where he is today in his relationship and service to the Lord Jesus.
